About Me

Howdy! I’m Jacquelyn! In 2022, I left my hometown of Toledo (go Mudhens!) to pursue an education in Theatre Technology and Design with a minor in Sociology at Cleveland State University. I am currently in my final semester and will be graduating this upcoming May (on my birthday!).

Theatre calls to me because it allows me to fulfill three goals:
1) Be helpful to others.
2) Create!
3) Live a life full of variety.

Costuming and scenic painting are my main areas of focus, but I have experience with lighting, sound, props, makeup, stage management, directing, scene design, carpentry, and more! I’d call myself a Jacq(uelyn) of all trades, but that would be too corny, even for me!

I believe there is always something new learn, and that there is much joy to be found in learning. As an artist and collaborator, I am dedicated to open-mindedness, adaptability, and always doing my best work, so those who rely on me are able to do their best work, too.

To me, the beauty and power of theatre comes from the connection between the audience and the story being told. In all the stories I tell, in all that I create, and in all that I do, I hope to foster that connection between art and the soul.

As human beings, our job in life is to help people realize how rare and valuable each one of us really is, that each of us has something that no one else has—or ever will have—something inside that is unique to all time. It’s our job to encourage each other to discover that uniqueness and to provide ways of developing its expression.

Here are some pictures that bring me joy. Have a wonderful day!

Having my own website makes me feel powerful. I can do anything! I will use that power to show you more pictures of my cats 🙂
